So.. Here is the plan! (so far)

Lauryn’s mum, Claire has organised a charity skydive for number of people on behalf of Lauryn to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. There is no set date yet as Claire is waiting to see how many people to book it for and when it's convenient for them. Although she has said it will be mid 2013 so we all have enough funding to be able to go ahead with the skydive. Unfortunately due to this exact details cannot be given yet but as soon as I know, it will be on here!

Lauryn's Story

In 2008 my beautiful little cousin Lauryn was given the devastating news that she had leukaemia. She was diagnosed with cancer just two days after her fifth birthday. All of the family was in total shock that such a little, out going child could ever be cursed with cancer. The night of the news she was admitted to Addenbrookes Hospital where she then began her two years of chemotherapy. It was not easy to see such a healthy chid deteriorate in front our eyes. Lauryn had to deal with the gruelling, painful, traumatic experiences. She spent more time in hospital then at home due to serious infections, transfusions, treatment scans, blood tests etc. Lauryn has spent birthdays in Addenbrookes, Family holidays have been cancelled furthermore she couldn’t attend school throughout her treatment which meant the small things you take for granted such as being able to go out and play with friends was taken away from her. Lauryns beautiful golden hair was starting to fall out and with that, her confidence was also beginning to fade.  Having said this she never lost her sense of humour, sparkle and her ability to smile and warm a room instantly. She amazes us all in everyway possible, even with a life threatening illness which a grown man could suffer with you’d ask this little girl how she was feeling she would simply shrug and say “I feel fine!”
To say I admire Lauryn is an understatement. I have never seen such strength and determination, that my little cousin demonstrates daily. She’s an inspiration, a true fighter!

Now its 2012, Lauryn is nine years old, and had a year and a half in remission from cancer! Being the star she is Lauryn beat it and is now, with long curly locks she is as cheeky and energetic as any other nine year old. So on behalf of Lauryn I want to raise money for leukaemia & lymphoma research (charity registration no. 216032). This really is a worth while cause. Cancer can affect anyone, and the unfortunate truth is that it is far to common and it needs to be wiped out.
